Backing The Next Chapter: Trevpar World & Station Hill Cricket Club

In the heart of Port Alfred’s Station Hill suburb, cricket isn’t just a pastime, it’s a lifeline. For almost two decades, the Station Hill Cricket Club (SHCC) has been more than a team: it’s a community hub, a place where youth find purpose, locals find pride, and visitors discover a true sporting spirit.

That’s exactly why we at TrevPAR World are proud to deepen our partnership with SHCC for the 2025/2026 season and beyond. As Africa’s leading hospitality revenue and data management company, we know the power of performance, discipline, and strategic growth. Supporting Station Hill isn’t just brand alignment… It’s investing in people, potential, and the kind of values we believe in.

Where It All Began

The partnership traces back to when TrevPAR World founder and CEO, Derek Martin, was a university student at Stenden and looking for a club to play for on weekends. He found more than a team, he found a family. Welcomed by SHCC president Andy Jones and the local players, Derek became part of something bigger than the game itself.

Years later, as TrevPAR World expanded into one of the continent’s most innovative data-led hospitality firms, that bond remained. What started as a player-club relationship turned into long-term sponsorship. For the last five years, TrevPAR World has proudly backed SHCC and in March 2024, that partnership helped fuel one of their biggest achievements yet: winning the 120th Pineapple Cricket Tournament. A historic victory powered by grit, precision, and unshakable teamwork.

More Than Just a Club

Founded in 2005 by Andy Jones and a group of friends determined to uplift local youth, SHCC quickly earned its stripes across the Eastern Cape. Over the years, the club has not only produced incredible players including Cody Jones, who recently smashed a club record with 238 runs in a single innings, but has also become a cornerstone of Port Alfred’s sporting identity.

Their growth off the field is just as impressive. Turf wickets, youth development, visiting clubs, tourism partnerships and SHCC has evolved into a local movement. It keeps kids off the streets, creates role models, attracts tourism and contributes to a thriving community ecosystem.

Why This Partnership Matters

For us at TrevPAR World, this isn’t just about logos on jerseys. It’s about legacy. We believe in data driven performance… sure, but more than that, we believe in purpose-led partnerships. SHCC embodies everything we stand for: resilience, strategy, and community upliftment.

Our support provides the club with training gear, funding for umpires, branded kits, travel support and increased exposure these tools that help them thrive on and off the pitch. When SHCC grows, so does the community around them. Restaurants, guesthouses, local shops as they all feel the ripple effect. And we’ve seen the results firsthand: increased youth participation, positive role models, healthier lifestyles and… most importantly, a community that believes in itself.

Building a Shared Future

As SHCC looks ahead to new seasons, fresh tournaments, and continued growth, TrevPAR World is proud to be by their side forhelping them host bigger matches, build stronger infrastructure, and spotlight Port Alfred as a rising sports-tourism destination. For other businesses, this is your sign: local sponsorship isn’t just about exposure. It’s about legacy. It’s about showing up where it matters. The Station Hill story proves that small investments in people and place can yield big returns — in loyalty, in purpose, in pride.
