Part 1: Project Management of Hotel Opening Processes as a Strategic Competence by Gert Noordzy – Managing Director of Northside Consulting
The first part of the workshop will review the root cause analysis and casual chain of hotel opening delays, then introduce a fundamental project management methodology, including the project life cycle and project management process groups to better manage on-time, on-brand, on-budget, on-customer new hotel openings. The session will conclude with a practical review of the project management knowledge areas of project risk management and project stakeholder management.
Part 2: Total Revenue Management as a Strategic Competence by Derek Martin – Chief Executive Officer of TrevPAR World
The second part of the workshop will first introduce the importance of total revenue management as the main driver for commercial readiness in the pre-opening and post-opening phases. The session will then review total revenue management for continuous commercial success throughout the ongoing operation of the asset life cycle to maximize positive cash-flows from operations, realize the investment objective and ensure internal rate of return upon the disposal of the asset.
